Kitesurf Lessons

You only need a few kitesurf lessons to make your first ride. It’s an easy and fun sport, but it needs special attention, especially in the beginning. The proper training from a specialized kitesurf school, with experienced instructors, with the appropriate training and rescue equipment is essential.

Don’t trust the first person on the beach or on the internet that will be introduced his self to you as an instructor. Ask to see all the degrees and all the licenses.

Athens Watersports is an official sailing school. We have the greatest experience in Greece, we are the first who did Kiteboard, but also numerous courses in our country. From 1999 until today, our passion becomes your excitement when you take your first kitesurf ride.

So do not hesitate. Choose one of the following programs and enter in the magical world of Kitesurfing:

Level 1 – Beginners Program

The Level-1 program is aimed at the complete beginner student and includes the following:

  • Theory of basic principles of sailing, kitesurf flight and safety systems in the classroom.
  • Kitesurf flight training, using a small foil kite on land.
  • Flight with a larger 4-line inflatable training kite, dimension proportional to the intensity of the wind, take-offs, landings.
  • Body drag practice in the water.
  • First tries waterstart with the kiteboard.

At the end of the program, you will have learned the basic handling of the kite, the security systems and you will have a complete experience of the sport. You can continue in LEVEL 2 or proceed with the purchase of your own equipment and do a little body Drag training before going to Level 2

Program duration: 5 hours. Choose one of the following packages:

Level 1 - 1 Hour Lesson

Level 2 – Advanced Program

The Level-2 program is aimed at anyone who has completed Level 1 and wants to continue learning all about Kitesurfing. Includes the following:

  • Practice at waterstart for a smooth start
  • ride with the kiteboard
  • Turns with twin tip kiteboard
  • Posture correction and upwind rides

At the end of the program you will be completely independent and able to do kitesurfing yourself.

Program duration: 5 hours. Choose one of the following packages:

Level 3 – Specialized Kitesurf Courses

The courses are aimed at those who have completed LEVEL 2 or are at this level.

  • WATERSTART
    Are you stuck in waterstart? The waterstart course takes place on the deep seas with the instructor next to you on a boat.
  • UPWIND
    Forget walking on the beach and swimming back. Learn how to get in and out of the same place.
  • JUMPING
    Discover the third dimension of kiteboarding. Learn quickly, correctly and safely how to jump.
  • JIBING
    Improve your turn. Learn how to make a quick turn, without sinking and stopping.
  • DIRECTIONAL & FOIL
    For those who want to go from the twin tip boat to the directional board or foil.

The specialized courses will help you to go one more level in kitesurfing and now you can start enjoying the speed, the planing more relaxed but also with greater safety.

ATTENTION

  • The theory and the flight to the land can be done in a group of 2 people. From the body drag and after the class is private. Group kitesurf lessons are for the benefit of the students, because the one who watches, learn from the mistakes of the other. The instructor is in the water next to you, while in the last lessons he follows you with a boat.
  • In the LEVEL 3 lessons as well as in the other lessons if required, the instructor is on a boat next to you.
  • During the lessons there is a standby lifeboat on the land.
  • All the courses are paid in advanced. The duration is one year. (We dont have refunds)
  • Kiteboarding is a sport strictly dependent on weather conditions and wind. The lesson may need to be canceled if the instructor deems the conditions dangerous or unsuitable for the lesson and he can deside to rescheduled the lesson
  • Prerequisite, very good knowledge of swimming
  • Kitesurf Equipment, Life jacket, Harness, Intercom with the trainer are included.
